Why DIY Valentine’s Day Decor?
Buying new home decor for every holiday can get expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! While I always try to purchase a few new items each holiday, to help keep costs down, I also love to DIY a few new decor pieces to add to my collection. February might only be 28 days long, but I still love to get out my Valentine’s Day decor each year!
Today I’m sharing 5 fun DIY projects for Valentine’s Day home decor you can keep out all month long!
1. Easy Dollar Tree Valentine’s Day Candle
Y’all I love candles, but they can be really expensive especially if they come in a cute container! I always have a few candles around with my favorite scents, but I love the idea of making a few DIY holiday specific battery operated candles to incorporate into my decor.
They are easy to store and can be customized to fit your decor style so they can be used year after year! I found this Easy Dollar Tree DIY Valentine’s Day Candle from MoneyWise Moms and not only is it affordable, but it looks like a really nice piece of farmhouse decor!
2. Valentine’s Day Signs from Scrap Wood
If you love wooden signs as much as I do, then you know it can get expensive to order multiple designs for each holiday from your favorite shops! I always try to purchase at least one element of my holiday decor from a small shop and incorporate DIY pieces to keep decorating for the holidays budget friendly.
Sustain my Craft Habit has a great DIY Valentine’s Day project for decor made out of scrap wood. How stinkin’ cute are her block letters on the mantle?!
I prefer mini signs because I love to put them on my tiered tray or console table, but the great thing about this DIY is that you can make your wooden signs any size you want! I also love that she encourages DIYers to use scrap materials they already have on hand to create something beautiful.
3. Mini DIY Valentine’s Day Topiaries
Topiaries are perfect for those places you just need a little something extra for and normally I am all about the greenery. I am in love with these DIY Valentine’s Day topiaries by Down Redbud Drive!
The twine and houndstooth combo is giving me all the Southern farmhouse vibes and the bright red hearts add the perfect pop of color. If the farmhouse look isn’t your style customize this project to fit your decor by simply switching up the twice and ribbon.
This project is so affordable and you can easily style with greenery, little fabric hearts, or just by themselves for a chic look!
4. Upcycled Copper Pipe Heart Wreath
I always have a wreath on my front door, but sometimes I feel like the inside of the door looks so plain! Another way to add a little flair to your entry is to put a simple wreath or hanger on the interior of your front door.
This upcycled copper pipe heart wreath from Sweet Pea is a simple but pretty option and its upcycled from old materials! Upcycling is a great way to use up scrap materials and create something totally new. I love the metal and ribbon combo because it has a hint of industrial and feminine style making it a great match for most decor styles!
If you’re looking for an easy DIY Valentine’s Day wreath, this project is a great option and can be used in so many ways. I would personally use it as a wreath on the interior of my front door, but you could also hang it on the wall or prop in a corner for a unique look!
5. Sweet V-Day Gnome
Y’all I am in love with gnomes! I mean they are so stinkin’ cute and are perfect for tiered trays, tables, and so much more. There are so many fab makers that create the coolest gnome decor and I love purchasing from their shops, but when I’m trying to save a little money, a DIY is a great option!
This DIY Valentine’s Day gnome by Mom in the Six only costs about $10, is so easy, and couldn’t be cuter! I love that you can customize your gnome to fit your decor style and because it’s so affordable, you can easily make one for every holiday.
